Youth Yard Sale
(Fundrasing Event!)

Saturday, May 19, 9:00 a.m. til ??

Looking to earn some money for the international youth convention??  The state youth convention in the fall?  We are planning to have a yard sale to help you raise funds for these events.

Youth attending International Youth Convention must work the sale.  Youth who are not going are also  encouraged to work to raise funds for your general account.

Donations may be brought to the church Thursday, May 18, & Friday, May 19.

All youth who are working need to be at the Church Friday evening at 5:30 p.m. to begin sorting and getting things ready for the sale on Saturday.  Youth parents will also be needed to help as well.  Any item that doesn’t sell will be given to the Prestonsburg Goodwill for donation.

2011 State Youth Convention

We had a great state youth convention!

With Speaker:  Erik Spohr
Worship Leader:  Jarrod Rudesill

Did you make a commitment to be radical in your Christian walk for 30 days?

How will you do that?
Commit to reading your Bible.  But how do you do that?  Where do you start?  If you read one chapter in Proverbs every day or five chapters in Psalms each day, you can read through the entire book.  The important thing is not how MUCH you read but what you get something out of WHAT you read.  You won't earn stars on your heavenly devotion chart, but by reading God's word, you will get to know him, what he desires and what he wants for you.  As you read, ask yourself these questions:
  1. What is the main thought in this passage?
  2. How can you apply it to your life?
You can also use a devotion book.  (If you choose this method, be sure to read the Bible passage that goes with the devotional!)  There are many good books or online devotionals.  Check out this one.  The important thing is that you do something!  Find a friend to do this challenge with you and hold each other accountable.

God will bless you as you commit your life to him in a deeper walk.  Be sure Satan won't stand by and try to distract you.
Commit and pray for God's help to keep this commitment!
